Name:
UTA MY WAY Event for Latinx Students
Date:
April 13, 2021
Time:
6:00 PM - 8:30 PM CDT

Event Description:
The event is open to all incoming freshman and transfer students and features guests who will share their perspectives on the University's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity. We are particularly proud to welcome UTA's Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, Dr. Maria Martinez-Cosio, to provide an overview of UTA's designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution and ongoing initiatives that help us better serve our LatinX and Hispanic students.
UTA My Way will also feature an address by distinguished UTA alumnus Ray Casas, Director of Community Impact for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club, and a presentation by Dr. Ignacio Ruiz, Interim Chair for UTA's Department of Modern Languages. The event will then offer information sessions with our Admissions and Financial Aid offices and a panel discussion with LatinX student leaders from the University. Students attending the program will be eligible for a UTA application fee waiver* and be entered into drawings for a chance to win UTA swag or an exclusive scholarship award. You can register for this event here: https://www.uta.edu/admissions/events/uta-my-way.
*Application fees are waived for new freshman and transfer applications, excluding the AO Nursing program.
