Job Description
The Trinity River Vision Authority is seeking lifeguards for the summer season to supervise guests at the following Panther Island Pavilion (PIP) Events: Rockin’ the River Tubing and Music Series, Sunday Funday and Fort Worth’s Fourth. Lifeguards will be responsible for maintaining PIP and enforcing the water rules and regulations as well as ensuring the safety of our guests by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Applicant must be willing to work the following dates:

Rockin’ the River – Saturdays
July: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
August: 3rd, 10th

Sunday Funday – Sundays
June: 30th
July: 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
August: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
September: 1st

Fort Worth’s Fourth 
July 4th

*Final schedule will be determined based on event needs and number of lifeguards hired.

Essential and other important duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Enforce rules and regulations.
Prevent accidents and perform rescues.
Perform appropriate first aid when necessary.
Maintain a high level of physical and mental fitness.
Assist in cleaning and maintaining Panther Island Pavilion.
Answer questions pertaining to the use of the water.
Participate in the Waterfront Skills Certification class – June 8th from 1:00PM to 5:00PM
Must be able to work outdoors in the Texas heat.
Requirements:

Must be at least 16 years old and have a current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it before your Waterfront Skills Certification class. No experience necessary. We will offer the Waterfront Skills Certification class on the following date at Panther Island Pavilion:

June 8th from 1:00PM to 5:00PM

In order for TRVA to pay the fee for this class, you must be willing to work the events listed above.

*The Waterfront Skills Certification class teaches lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in nonsurf, open-water areas found at public parks, resorts, summer camps and campgrounds. Candidate must have a current American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED. This certification is good for 2 years.

Only those lifeguards who are hired by TRVA and willing to work the dates listed above will receive the Waterfront Skills Certification class at no charge.

The Trinity River Vision Authority (TRVA) is the organization responsible for the implementation of the Trinity River Vision (TRV) – a master plan for the Trinity River in Fort Worth, Texas. TRVA aims to attract business and entertainment to the district and is in charge of programming public spaces, such as the Panther Island Pavilion – a waterfront music venue and festival space directly adjacent to downtown Fort Worth. Panther Island Pavilion is a picturesque venue that is the go-to venue in DFW for exciting outdoor concerts, festivals, and adventure runs.
