Dickies Arena will be a 14,000 seat, spectacular multipurpose venue located adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus in Fort Worth, Texas. The arena will be owned by the City of Fort Worth and managed by the not-for-profit operating entity, Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC). The state-of-the-art arena, scheduled to open in November 2019, will host concerts, sporting events and family entertainment, and will be the new home to Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances.

Job Description
Provide technical support to Dickies Arena and the Technical Services Department through maintenance and operations of low voltage electrical systems, including, but not limited to; broadcast cable infrastructure, audio cabling and speaker systems, cat5(e) and cat6(e) cable pathways and networked devices, single mode fiber pathways, terminations and enclosures, support of video display systems including mounting and maintenance of LED video tiles, LED Television sets, oLED Television sets and assorted other electronic equipment. 
 
This position will support events as needed in both set up and operations requiring some nights, weekends and holiday events
 
Essential Functions

1. Assist Technical Services Manager with issues related to physical operation of Production and Broadcast equipment.
2. Create event outlooks for set up and operational needs and forecast post event maintenance or cleanup needs.
3. Assist in setting up ClearCom, audio patches, camera equipment, lighting and audio equipment and stations, Basketball/Hockey/Rodeo scoring and timing equipment, Spot Lights and Broadcast Sport Lights.
4. Ensure maintenance and operational ability of all associated low voltage cable pathways.
5. Provide shows with assistance in connecting to Broadcast cable systems, ClearCom and Riedel communication systems, DMX lighting systems and XLR or Dante Audio systems.

6. Create best practice guidelines and documentation for use and care of all broadcast and production equipment.
7. Provide for or perform regularly schedule maintenance to Broadcast and Production Equipment including video displays, camera systems, audio systems and arena sports lighting systems.
8. Suggest ongoing upgrade and enhancements to Dickies Arena to increase efficiency and lessen maintenance downtime and operational impact.

9. Assist Technical Services Event Day Staff in operations of key building and production systems with channel changes, audio zoning requests, special presentation set up needs,
10. Communicate all system outages and concerns with Technical Services Manager and OnSite Event Operations personnel to ensure superior guest experience and presentation quality.


 
Competencies
 
1. Understanding of Broadcast Signal flow and Pathways including HD/SDI SMPTE, Triax, XLR, Dante Audio, Network Cable terminations and Single Mode Fiber.
2. Ability to Work Nights Weekends and Holidays as Event Schedule necessitates.
3. Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings as well understanding and documenting changes to drawings and system layouts.
4. Maintain a professional appearance and Superior Customer Service.
5. Effectively communicate with Arena Staff and Personnel via oral, written and computer documented notes.
6. Prior certification and training, or wiliness to become certified in safe operations of heavy machines and complex tools.
7. In the absence of the Technical Services Manager, provides leadership and ensures superior execution of all events and presentations.
8. Ability to handle complex problems in high stress situations, as well ability to handle loud noises, dark rooms, bright spaces, and extreme heights.
9. Ability to work with computer equipment in a highly technical fashion, understanding of basic networking principles and guidelines and wiliness to continue cross training and understanding of other key arena systems.

 
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Preferred 2-5 years of experience in live sports, broadcast or other live presentation. 
2. Prior knowledge of Sony Camera Systems, Ross Production Systems, ClearCom Communication System, Riedel Communication System, Yamaha Audio Systems, Crestron Control Systems, Cisco Vision IPTV, Mitsubishi LED display Systems, ANC vSoft display studio, DMX enabled theatrical lighting, and the following cable types; SMPTE, Triax, HD/SDI, XLR, DT12, Cat5(e), Cat6(e), Single Mode and Multimode fiber.
 
Supervisory Responsibility
General supervision over Event Day Technical Services staff assigned to the department performing variety of duties from camera operation, broadcast operation, audio engineering, lighting control, video display control and event support.
 
Physical demands
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will frequently operate a computer and other office devices such as calculators, telephones, copy machines, faxes and printers. Employee will constantly move about inside and outside various areas of the facility before/during/after events to interact with internal/external clients and supervise the work of employees during events. Employee must constantly communicate via telephone, email and in-person with others and exchange accurate information. Employee must be certified or able to be trained for certification high lifts and other heavy machines. Employee may occasionally be required due to business demands and event operations to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. As business, maintenance, operations or emergency situations require, employee may sporadically assist in lifting/moving 100 lbs. or more.
