Job Description
Position Summary:
In cooperation with the General Contractor, maintain safety oversight on infrastructure projects and work with insurance companies and outside agencies.  Collaborate with project teams in areas such as crane rigging, fall protection, traffic control, excavations, etc., to eliminate or minimizes hazardous situations by recommending safety procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain safety oversight on infrastructure projects
  • Accident investigations
  • Monitor on-site employee work practices and provide guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Company safety standards
  • Prepare safety reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Complete leading and lagging indicators for projects
  • Legal Compliance
  • Maintain professional integrity at all times
  • Clear and concise communication daily with contractors to resolve safety hazards
  • Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service
  • Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts
  • Perform other duties as required
Required Experience:
  • OSHA 10 – Construction
  • Three (3) years of experience in Construction Safety or Loss Control
Desired Experience:
  • Five (5) years of experience in the Safety or Loss Control field
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
Required Education/Certification/License:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
Desired Education/Certification/License:       
  • Associate’s degree in related field
  • OSHA 30 – Construction CSHO (Certified Safety and Health Official) in Construction
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • CPR, First-aid, AED certifications
