Job Description
Recovery Resource Council is seeking to hire a full-time Coalition Coordinator for a new community coalition serving Kaufman County, currently named Kaufman County THRIVES.
The purpose of this Community Coalition Partnership (CCP) is to implement evidence-based strategies that promote behavioral health and wellness to prevent negative outcomes associated with substance use, especially among youth.
Strategies will address underlying factors that lead to substance use and behavioral health challenges, including adverse childhood experiences, social determinants of health, or other youth, family and community risk and protective factors.
Goals for this coalition are to:
• Increase and facilitate participation in and commitment to community mobilization activities that work to promote behavioral health and prevent negative outcomes associated with substance use, especially among the youth in the community.
• Create communities that foster behavioral health and wellness and address environmental factors that may lead to substance use.
• Increase community awareness regarding substance use and mental health and wellness.
• Promote collaborative efforts to inform and engage local community members by addressing common goals and objectives pertaining to risk and protective factors.
Summary: Desired applicants are self-starters, outgoing, and community-minded individuals who want to make meaningful change. Must be comfortable with public speaking and face-to-face interactions, and planning/coordinating coalition meetings and activities/events. Community engagement is key. Prior knowledge of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug misuse is preferred along with an understanding of behavioral health. Responsible for regular community interaction via social media, newsletters, etc. – good communication skills are imperative. Experience with data collection a plus.
Coalition Coordinator must live in Kaufman County and will work a 40-hour per week hybrid schedule (remote/in-person) based out of our Downtown Dallas (East Campus) location. Some evenings/weekends may be required for events and/or community meetings.
Bachelor’s degree required or applicable experience/degree in process may be considered. Salary range: $42,000 - $45,000 per year plus benefits.
