Job Description

Salary: $31.05 - $38.81 per hour

The Risk Analyst provides support and data analysis to the Risk Management team to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks that may impact the organization's operations, projects, reputation, or financial stability. Key responsibilities include analyzing claims and incident data (internal and external), supporting the development of risk models, and providing recommendations to the Risk Management team. The Risk Analyst will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of risk management principles, and the ability to communicate complex findings effectively.


Job Description

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Risk Analysis

    • Responsible for supporting enterprise-wide risk assessments and ongoing risk management strategies

    • Track compliance requirements

    • Conduct condition assessments on property as well as processes created from risk assessments

    • Maintain Risk Management data tools, reporting, KPIs, and dashboards

    • Prepare reports and present findings to assist management with decision-making while offering solutions to minimize or eliminate risks

    • Act as a resource and investigative partner to the Risk Management department in areas such as organizational strategy, process improvement, and data mining

  • Insurance Management

    • Track and manage general liability and property claims, including ROCIP claims, Risk Management Fund claims, and other insurance claims

    • Coordinates with HR on Workers’ Compensation claims for the purpose of ensuring adequate insurance support as well as safety analysis

    • Conduct trend analysis on claims data

    • Track Insurance Renewal Dates and Requirements

    • Support analysis of what insurance and method of insurance is best for the District on an ongoing basis

    • Review and update current assets on the insurance schedule on an ongoing basis with the coordination of other departments as necessary

    • Coordinate all appraisals related to insurable items

  • Support staff safety and other risk management areas as needed

  • Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service

  • Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts

  • Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization

 

Required Experience:

  • Three (3) years of related experience at a professional level  

  • Demonstrated progressive analytical and financial expertise

  • Experience managing multiple business lines of coverage claims

 

Desired Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience in the Risk Management or Loss Control field

  • Five (5) years of experience managing business lines of coverage claims

 

Required Education/Certification/License:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Bachelor's degree in related risk management, finance, accounting, or business management (related professional experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree in a different field)

  • Valid Texas driver’s license

 

Desired Education/Certification/License:       

  • RIMS-CRMP

  • ARM
