Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley has signed a declaration of local disaster due to a public health emergency. The order was signed to help contain and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Tarrant County. City of Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price declared a State of Emergency due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The declaration is effective at 12:01 a.m. March 14, 2020 and will be in place through March 21, 2020. It is contemplated that the City Council will vote in the coming week to extend the declaration past March 21.
