FORT WORTH, TEXAS (September 22, 2022) – Goodwill North Central Texas announced today that the company has promoted four staff members to leadership positions within the nonprofit. Beth Reneau has been named Senior Director of Donated Goods, Kim Perkins has been named Senior Director of Human Resources, Frances Lopez has been named Director of Retail Systems and Inventory and Cody Tovar has been named Director of Information Systems.
Reneau has served Goodwill North Central Texas for 22 years. She began her career as an Intake Specialist and North Texas Institute for Career Development Instructor in the Workforce Development department, then served as Interim Training Manager and Regional Production Manager before being named Director of Donated Goods in 2018. Now, as Senior Director of Donated Goods, Reneau will develop and implement budget and plan development and Kaizen (Process Improvement) practices for the donated goods. She is responsible for the overall direction, strategy and budget control for the Campus Outlet, eCommerce/online sales department, 14 attended donation centers, fleet transportation of donated goods, transportation of salvage, and E-Waste and recycling teams. Additionally, she is responsible for aftermarket operations including the sale of salvage and credential donated items, including salvage textiles/wares, and hard & soft credentials.
Reneau and her team are committed to sustainability and have a goal of becoming a zero-waste facility. Reneau received the TRUE Advisor certification from GBCI, showcasing her commitment to advancing zero waste values and policies and is a member of the STAR (State of Texas Alliance for Recycling) Reuse Council. Perkins most recently served as Director of Human Resources. She is responsible for managing activities regarding the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of human resources programs with an emphasis on employee relations, recruitment and compensation planning. With her promotion to Senior Director, she will be adding employee engagement (GoodLife) and more department administration including benefit planning to her responsibilities. Perkins joined Goodwill in October 2018 as Manager of Human Resources. Prior to joining Goodwill, she served as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for National Community Renaissance in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. and as Human Resources Manager for California Scents in Irvine, Calif. prior to her move to north Texas. A native of Illinois, Perkins earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Northern Illinois University in 1994. She is a graduate of the Leadership Fort Worth Class of 2022, maintains a Professional in HR (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute, holds a certificate in Human Resources from California State University, and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Fort Worth HR.
Tovar joined the Goodwill team in 2013 as a Desktop Technician. He then served as an eCommerce Auction Lister before joining the IT department as an Information Systems Technician. Most recently Tovar served as System Administrator prior to his promotion. As Director of Information Systems and Technology, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Goodwill’s network and associated computer systems, providing advice to end users and overseeing junior level technicians. Additionally, he will maintain all company applications and networked computer systems, as well as identify business and technology needs to optimize the use of information technology within the organization. Tovar completed COMP TIA A+ and Network+ certificates through the North Texas Institute for Career Development. He is currently enrolled at Brigham Young University seeking a degree in applied technology. Tovar also volunteers with We All Can Academy, a nonprofit founded by his parents to provide food to families in need.
Lopez has been a member of the Goodwill team since 2008. First serving as a Retail Operations Manager, she was promoted to Retail Support Specialist in 2011 and assisted with donated goods and retail inventory and data oversight for more than 10 years. In her new position, Lopez will be responsible for the collection and analysis of point-of-sale inventory control data, collaborate with retail directors on price point structure, provide competitor analysis and develop recommendations for improvements. In addition, Lopez will represent Goodwill North Central Texas as a buyer for all new goods sold in retail locations. Prior to her time at Goodwill North Central Texas, Lopez served as Implementation Specialist/Administrator Coordinator for BJ Services Company USA.
