FORT WORTH, TEXAS (August 2, 2022) – Goodwill North Central Texas announced today that the Goodwill Outlet, located at 2452 Mansfield Highway in Fort Worth, will host a teacher surplus sale on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Items will be sold for just .99 cents per pound to teachers with valid ID.

Teachers can expect to find crafts and items to decorate their classroom including binders, glue, yarn and other crafting materials, storage containers, writing and coloring utensils, seasonal decorations and educational games in sale bins. One row in the store will be exclusive to teachers on the day of the sale from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., but the discount will apply to anything store-wide all day.

“The Goodwill Outlet isn’t your typical Goodwill store,” said Rosemary Cruz, Vice President of Retail Sales and Donated Goods for Goodwill North Central Texas. “The store is set up with rolling bins that are brought out with fresh merchandise every 30 minutes. Shoppers dig through the tables to find their deals. Items found in the Outlet are perfect for those DIY and Pinterest projects.”

The Goodwill Outlet, which launched in 2013, sells items that didn’t sell during a five-week rotation in a Fort Worth-area Goodwill retail store or was deemed unfit for traditional sale. Clothing and smaller items are sold for just $1.69 per pound, while any single item seven pounds or more is sold at a flat price of $7. Many individuals who typically shop the Outlet have their own resale operations or are interested in repurposing projects.

As with all 27 Goodwill North Central Texas retail locations, revenue from sales at the Outlet go to support Goodwill’s charitable mission of providing jobs and job training to individuals with disabilities, the formerly incarcerated, people experiencing homelessness, at-risk youth and veterans.
