LIFTFUND’S WOMEN’S BUSINESS CENTER ANNOUNCES BUSINESS RESILENCY PROGRAM TO HELP DALLAS-FT. WORTH BUSINESSES SURVIVE AND THRIVE AMID COVID-19

DALLAS, July 14, 2020 – With continued uncertainty around and many of our staple businesses closing their doors permanently amid the COVID-19 pandemic, LiftFund’s Women’s Business Center is rolling out free programming to help Dallas-Ft. Worth minority and women-owned businesses not only survive, but thrive. Led by award-winning director, Tarsha Polk, known for her exceptional business acumen and marketing expertise, LiftFund’s Women’s Business Center (WBC) developed the Business Resiliency Program to provide a comprehensive resource that provides measurable results, a much needed service in a time where once thriving businesses are closing every day.

“The Women’s Business Center is a resource and a place where business owners can talk to an advisor who cares about their situation and can guide them through this difficult time,” said Tarsha Polk.

Funded by the CARES Act, the COVID-19 Business Resiliency Program is designed to help businesses recover quickly from the pandemic. The program is offered free of charge to businesses that had to close due to safety mandates, had to operate remotely and suffered a loss, suffered a 15% or more revenue loss or are struggling to reopen. From one-on-one business coaching to help securing funding, the WBC’s Business Resiliency program addresses all the pressing concerns of business owners during this uncertain time.

Program offerings include:

COVID-19 Business Assessments & Recommendations where participants receive free business assessments by subject matter experts in supply chain and distribution, cyber security, remote telework, remote customer service solutions, and general business strategies to mitigate the risks of COVID-19.

COVID-19 Business Continuity Planning, which provides guidance and coaching to help businesses recover from COVID-19. Participants will receive three months of coaching to guide them through developing their business plan, plus review and feedback from a customized business plan writing company made up of full-time, in-house writers and analysts who have credible experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, Fortune 500 and start up and entrepreneurial experience.

Emotional Wellness Coaching on How to Cope with COVID, a 3-month emotional wellness coaching program led by a professional licensed counselor and life coach. It is designed to support female entrepreneurs as they manage through crisis and lead their business into recovery.

Industry-Specific Trainings and Educational Resources, by industry experts focusing on industries hit the hardest, such as day care centers, beauty/hair salons, retailers and food services.
In addition to those programs, through Business Resiliency Program, the WBC’s staff works closely with businesses to help them obtain the funding they need. Their advisors can help business owners identify and apply for the funding opportunities that are right for their business and they’ve already helped over 200 business owners of North Texas businesses stay afloat with these resources.

“Prior to the onset of COVID-19, I had a highly successful interior design business,” said Karyn Martin, owner of Interprise Interior Design. “Like many other small businesses, we faced business interruptions that we needed assistance with. I went to my bank and they said they didn’t do SBA loans. I immediately turned to LiftFund’s Women’s Business Center where they helped me identify funding sources to complete the PPP application, which provided the funding needed to keep our workforce stable.”

To date, LiftFund’s Women’s Business Center DFW has served more 1055 clients and helped them gain access to more than $3 million dollars in funding. In addition to its DFW location, LiftFund serves the entire state of Texas and is the host of the San Antonio Women’s Business Center.
