Job Description
Recovery Resource Council is looking for a conscientious, detail-oriented, and compassionate individual who is capable of successfully managing multiple tasks and responsibilities to assist Veterans who are currently homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.
 
 

Competencies, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

·Strong communication skills including the ability to deliver presentations to a group

·Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

·Knowledge of community resources and ability to network

·Ability to plan, organize, set objectives, time frames, and prioritize

·Understanding of and willingness to practice trauma informed care

 

Skills / Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or veterans is preferred. Must have reliable transportation, a current Texas driver’s license and evidence of auto liability insurance.
 

Responsibilities:

The Veteran Services Case Manager will apply knowledge of eligibility criteria of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program when enrolling new clients and during recertification. The Veteran Services Case Manager is responsible for developing and implementing individualized housing stability plans with each Veteran. This includes guiding the Veteran through the process of maintaining or obtaining permanent housing. They will also provide housing counseling based on the Veteran’s and their family’s needs; monitor and evaluate the household’s progress and adjust the plan and/or delivery of services as necessary. The Veteran Services Case Manager must complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner to ensure compliance with funding requirements and agency quality assurance standards. They will also cultivate positive relationships with internal and external partners; provide linkage and referrals to appropriate community resources. Strong time management skills are required to juggle multiple priorities and tasks. This position requires the ability to maintain all records of communication and accurately enter data into multiple databases. Clear and effective communication is required. The Veteran Services Case Manager must be able to work with and interact with Veterans from a variety of ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds, adhering to the agency guarantee to provide everyone with “unconditional acceptance, respect, and positive regard.”
