Job Description
General Description:
Under the direction of the ReStore Manager, the ReStore Associate/Stocker is an agency Problem Solver
Broadly speaking he or she has responsibility for ringing-up customers in a timely and accurate manner, while providing friendly and courteous service to ReStore customers. Additionally, he/she performs data entry as needed and maintains the ReStore donor database.
 
Problem Solvers are the foundation of the agency.  They efficiently handle a wide range of critical tasks that support the Agency Team and our various programs.  Problem Solvers are empowered to solve problems.  They do not look to their supervisor for solutions. They ensure that important details do not slip through the cracks, are incredibly well organized, make the agency look professional, and facilitate excellent audits, among many other things. Problem Solvers look to AI to create efficiency and excellence!
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities...
He or she must:    
  • Handle donated materials that arrive at the ReStore
 
  • Interact with customers and donors in a professional manner
  • Sort and stock materials by department
 
  • Lift objects weighing up to 70 lbs
  • Ensure the store is safe and clean
   
 
Job Conditions...
Position is full-time (40 hours a week) work Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work is required. 
It is a non-exempt position. Conditions and benefits are contained in the board approved Employee Handbook.

General Responsibilities…
  1. Provide calm, confident, and positive leadership to the entire organization.
  2. Disseminate information readily to stakeholders as appropriate.
  3. Submit accurate reports according to deadlines.
  4. If you question, disagree, or have a concern, speak directly with those involved.  Do not gossip to others!
  5. Ensure that your area, office, building, vehicle, trailer, etc., is clean, organized, safe, and compliant.
  6. Comply with grant requirements accordingly.
  7. Crosstrain with fellow staff to ensure a steady flow of business despite absences.
 
Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Assist donors with unloading donations
  2. Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
  3. Assist customers with loading their purchases as necessary
  4. Price incoming donations as needed
  5. Stock incoming materials as needed in their appropriate location
  6. Utilize available volunteers to assist with proper stocking
  7. Ring up customers at the cash register as needed
  8. Answer phone and direct incoming calls as needed
  9. Ensure that the store is clean, organized and safe
  10. Provide outstanding customer service to customers and donors
Misc:
  1. Professional appearance and demeanor.
  2. Pleasant speaking voice and articulation.
  3. Availity to work on Saturdays and evenings as necessary.
  4.  ********Ability to type 40 words per minute*******
  5. Valid Texas driver's license, insurance and an operational vehicle.
  6. Undertake other duties as assigned.
